I was at St. Albans Cathedral yesterday, History Field trip, don'tcha know. The reformation is roughly a century before the period in which I started started studying and I don't know a foamy toss about it so it was interesting to learn about the dissolution of the Monasteries and all that palaver. Anyways, during the proceedings we all had to dress up as monks and reenact the debate that St. Albans abbey had about whether they would volunteer to close down or stay open and face the possibly wrath of old fat Henry. I got volunteered to be the Abbot by the other members of the group, which was fun but I didn't have a bastard clue what was going on. I had to wear a velvet cloak and a mitre and carry around a fancy stick. I managed to stay in character throughout, talking in a very haughty and dignified way - I'm an actor, darlings - and it was all a lot of fun. I got a lot of awed stares from young school kids, which was quite amusing. If I were them I would have taken the piss but I think they may have believed I really was the bloke in charge of the gaff. I certainly walked around like I owned the place. Ah you see, in every leftie there's probably a tyrant waiting to get out. ![]()
That's a joke by the way. If I was gonna get a comment about anything, it would definitely be on that throw away line. Blah blah, socialists are all thieves and evil, blah blah, eat our babies, blah blah blah. Whatever, shut up.
