Ah...yes.
by Albert_Soviets @ 2007-09-03 - 21:23:13So... supposed to be wending my way to Norwich (city of mustard) to start my masters degree, but I don't have any money.
Bugger.
So I've had to have a change of plan.
I'm going to train to be a teacher instead. That way I can teach until I have a nervous breakdown or raise sufficient funds to cover my masters degree (and eventually phD)(whichever comes first). First things first though, I have to go to night school for GSCE Maths.
Bugger,
Still, with any luck I'll be better at maths and thus better at the whole murky world of finance and all that malarky. I'll also be able to calculate the area of things. My deficiency in the worlds of finance and area calculation have been holding me back for too long!
Hurrah!
Two weeks ago I had an interview with the University of Hertfordshire, which I thought went okay but they only accept 1 in 10 people. Out of the 11 people still on our course, 6 people were rejected and I thought I would be one of them, simply because two of the people that were accepted, weren't in my eyes, good enough to make the cut. Sure that sounds cruel but I'm not saying they're bad people. it's just that you have to be confident, a good public speaker, academically bright and all that.
Academically bright is not the same thing as being intelligent of course. It just means you can jump certain kinds of hoops. The people that did get in are smart as I am to be sure so I am not putting them down, its just that you need to be able convey ideas in a way that appeals to universities. I only have all those chops because I am already a graduate. Then again I'm not an interviewer so who am I to judge.
Still, I may have thought I wouldn't get in but I did, so more fool me.
That's mighty fine news!
