This speech in favour of presidential candidate Barrack Obama has caused quite a lot of controversy. If you watch the video on Youtube you will find it titled as "hate speech". Having watched it I must ask, are people watching an entirely different speech?
He says "what a poor black man has to put up with every day in a country controlled by rich white people". Now you may agree that it's true or not. I agree with him. The major CEO's, generals and leading politicians are rich white people. Pointing to Condaleeza Rice or Colin Powell and saying, "look! Black people!" isn't really cutting it. If you, as I have done, ever visited the United States, particularly in the South, you will find that the nice suburbs are white and the poor run down areas are black. Go to a Walmart or McDonalds and you will find that the menial shitty jobs are filled by black people. I have seen this with my own two eyes. But let's say that it isn't true. Where does he say that he hates white people? He doesn't. He says that he will not sink to their level of hatred. That he will love his enemy. Yes he is angry. I think he has good reason. And if you listen to his reasons, it is not full of nutty conspiracy theories but real experiences. Hilary Clinton will never be called a nigger. Hilary does not know what it is like to be poor, Hilary does not know what it is like to face systemic prejudice because of her skin colour. And if you want to see some of that prejudice, go read the comments on youtube.
So I ask you, if you can spot the hatred and racism, you tell me where it is because I cannot see it.
